A Microsoft PowerPoint presentation is set to continuously loop; it just keeps playing until you manually end the presentation. You can end the presentation at any time by pressing the "Escape" key on the keyboard. However, you can also remove the continuous loop feature from your presentation.
Open the presentation that is set to continuously loop.
Click "Set Up Slide Show" on the Presentation tab in the Set Up group.
Remove the check from "Loop Continuously Until 'ESC'" check box in the Show Options sections on the Set Up Show dialog box. Click the "OK" button.
Tips & Warnings
- Consider saving a copy of the presentation and removing the continuous loop from the copy. Press the "F12"key on your keyboard to open the Save As screen. Enter a new name for the presentation and then click the "Save" button. This way, you will not lose the rehearsed timing.
- The only presentations that should be set-up to continuously loop are Kiosks. These are set to run automatically with no interaction from the audience or the presenter. Adding automatic timing and looping to a presenter run or audience run presentation leads to frustration when the slides automatically advance at inappropriate times.
