How to Appeal Denied SNAP Benefits

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, is a government program that offers low-income families with funds to purchase food items at authorized retailers. SNAP eligibility is determined at the state level based on local cost-of-living requirements and on requirements established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. If you have been denied SNAP benefits, you are allowed the opportunity to appeal the decision. Appeals must be made within 90 days of receiving a rejection notice.
