Tips & Warnings
A multitude of Twitter feed import options exist for any blogs, including Tumblr, and can be implemented by installing a widget into the theme you are using. This step is for more advanced users of blogs or those who are familiar with how widgets work within the theme interfaces and coding of a blogging platform. A widget is a specially coded application that will add unique functions to a blog.
Most widgets will have special instructions included in the download that are created by the individual programmers. User forums will also help walk you through the process of installing the widget on your specific platform and theme.
If importing your Twitter feed is a major element of your Tumblr layout, be sure to choose a theme that highlights the Twitter feed. Some themes will ask you to add your Twitter username under the "Appearances" tab and this will automatically bring in your Twitter feed to the theme. Other themes will import your feed based on the account access granted under the Services menu. Themes are created by individual programmers, so the options will be vast for choosing the right theme for your needs.
