How to Post an Ad on a Craigslist Bulletin Board

Craigslist is an online classifieds site with location-specific ad listings. You can post items for sale, job ads, property for rent or sale and more. Save the expense of a newspaper classified ad by posting on Craigslist free of charge. Understanding the process for publishing a Craigslist ad will ensure that your ad gets published properly, with the required confirmation.

Instructions

1. Launch your preferred Internet browser. Navigate to the Craigslist homepage.

2. Click the "US States" link on the right side of the screen. Select your state from the list. Choose your local area from the list that appears.

3. Click "Post to Classifieds" in the upper left corner of the screen. Select from the available categories, including job listings or "for sale" ads.

4. Enter a title for the ad, the price and your location in the upper text fields. Add your email address to the two "Reply to" fields. Input your main ad text in the large text field. Click "Add/Edit Images" to upload pictures, if applicable.

5. Click "Continue" to review the ad the way you entered it. Click "Submit" if it is acceptable. Click "Edit" and adjust anything that is not as you intended. Check your email account after you submit the ad. Click the confirmation link in the email to publish your ad.
