When working with a word processor, you can enter text and graphics into the header of a document. The header is a space at the top of every page of a document. Anything entered into the header will be repeated on every page of that document. The best method of calculating the size of a header is with the program's ruler, on the top and side of the document.
Open your word processor and the document with the header whose size you want to calculate.
Click "View," "Header and Footer." Your header will now appear at the top of your document with dotted lines around it.
Use the ruler on the side and top of the document. The height and length of the header will appear white on the ruler while all other space will be gray.
Modify the size of the header by dragging the markers on the ruler up and down to increase height, and side to side to increase length.
