How to Disable Mozilla Firefox From Computer

Your Windows computer uses default programs to open files. This makes it so you do not have to pick a program every time you open a file. If Mozilla Firefox is your default Internet browser, whenever Windows needs to open a Web page, it will open the page in Firefox. If you do not want Firefox as your default browser, you can disable it and use a different browser.

Instructions

1. Press "Alt" in Firefox to reveal the menus.

2. Click the "Tools" menu and select "Options."

3. Click the "General" tab and uncheck the box next to "Firefox should check to see if it is the default browser when starting." Click "OK," then close Firefox.

4. Click the Windows "Start" button. Click "Control Panel."

5. Click "Networking and Internet" and "Internet Options."

6. Click "Programs." Click the "Make Default" button to make Internet Explorer your default Internet browser. This disables Firefox as the default browser at the same time.

7. Click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

• You can make other browsers besides Internet Explorer your default browser, Normally, when you start the other browser, it will ask you to make it the default browser.
