How to Draw a Laser

Lasers are amplified light.

Lasers are often depicted in comic books and animation as a pulse or energy blast. Most lasers are not actually visible to the naked eye, but artists often draw them as devastating beams of light. Spruce up your next super-hero or anime drawing by adding a laser to the action.

Things You'll Need

• Colored pencils
• Ruler
• Paper

Instructions

1. Draw a straight line in the color of your choosing. Use a ruler to make sure your line is flawless.

2. Draw a teardrop shape at one end of the line to show the point of origin. The shape should start wide and become narrow as it approaches the line.

3. Color in your point of origin. Thicken the laser line by tracing along the length of it a few times.

4. Choose a contrasting color and outline your entire laser with a thin line.

Tips & Warnings

• Fot added effect, draw a lens flare near the point of origin.

• Use colors that will stand out from your background.
