Class reunions give old schoolmates a chance to reconnect.

Reunions are a special time for old schoolmates to reunite and catch up after time apart. The 10-year class reunion is the first in the set of school reunions, but it is still a significant milestone. Use the reunion as an opportunity to host activities that are reminiscent of things the classmates used to do together during school. Make sure that you start planning the reunion well in advance, so that you give classmates enough notice to make the arrangements to attend.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a weekend in which to celebrate the 10-year class reunion. Plan to host activities on Friday evening, Saturday and maybe Sunday morning. Friday evening is the welcome night, Saturday is the main formal event and Sunday can be the goodbye brunch.

Make a list of the events you wish to host during the reunion. You might base this on where you are having the reunion. For instance, if your reunion is going to be in Arizona, you might have a pool party activity. Or, if your reunion is going to be in New York, you might hire a yacht for a formal dinner on a Saturday evening.

Prepare activities within activities. For instance, during your formal Saturday dinner on a yacht you can have everyone play a game, host a roast, give speeches, do raffles, put together a time capsule, or stage mock oral quizzes to bring back students to the days of class.

Decorate for the events. Integrate the school colors and mascot wherever you can. Use old banner and nostalgic items that will give attendees the sense that they are back in school again.

    • 5

Provide food, beverages and entertainment. You might hire a DJ or live band for the Saturday evening formal event so that guests can dance. Serve food and beverages at all the events that are hosted throughout the weekend.

    • 6

Take photos. Share the picture-taking task with others people attending the reunion. Create a 10-year class reunion yearbook using the pictures you take, and send the yearbook to all those who attended. The cost for the yearbook could be covered in the reunion ticket fees.

Prepare swag -- gift bags or mementos -- for people to take home. Consider printing reunion info on simple items such as keychains, pens, goodie bags or printed coffee mugs.
