Sherwin-Williams Silver-Brite Aluminum Paint is a general purpose aluminum paint that can be used in marine settings or to paint any steel or metal surface. The aluminum finish reflects the rays from the sun, lowering energy costs and providing long-term protection from the weather and moisture. The Silver-Brite paint can be applied by brush, roller, or spray applications. The easiest and most efficient way is to apply it with a spray gun, giving the Silver-Brite a professional finish.

Spray the final layer of Silver-Brite on the surface with the paint sprayer. Always apply a thin, even coat of paint. Let the surface dry for at least 48 hours to allow the paint to cure thoroughly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean any equipment and hands with mineral spirits. Do not use water, as it will not work.

  • Aluminum, galvanized steel, concrete and masonry will all require a coat of primer before applying Silver-Brite. Apply the primer in the same way as the paint, allowing eight hours for the coat of primer to dry before painting the surface.

  • Primer is not needed for iron or steel surfaces.
