How to Set Up a Fortec Dynamic Receiver for Dish Network

Customarily, Fortec Dynamic receivers are designed primarily for free-to-air (FTA) satellite use. This means that in most cases, if you have a Fortec Dynamic receiver, you are using it to capture broadcast signal from non-encrypted satellites. However, if you purchase a Fortec receiver with a built-in decoder for Dish Network, you can set your receiver up for use with the Dish Network satellites. The process of setting up a Fortec Dynamic receiver for Dish Network is fairly straightforward.

Instructions

1. Press the "Program" button on your Fortec receiver remote control to open the "Settings" screen on your television.

2. Use the "Up/Down" arrow buttons to scroll through the main menu to the "Installation Menu" option, then press the "Enter" button.

3. Scroll to the "Manage Satellite" option and press "Enter." The next screen will show the listing of available satellites for your area.

4. Scroll to the "Dish Network" satellite in the listing and press the "Enter" button. Press the "Satellite Scan" button and the receiver automatically configures itself to the Dish Network satellite.
