How to Add My Website to Ask.Com
An established website often receives much of its traffic from repeat visitors who bookmark or remember the URL and navigate directly to the page. If you have started a new website, much of your traffic will initially come from search engine result pages. To maximize your potential traffic it is in your best interest to make sure that the website is listed in as many search engines as possible. Submit your website to Ask.com using the search engine's free sitemap submission tool.

1
Generate a sitemap for your website. If you are unfamiliar with this process use a Web-based tool to generate a sitemap automatically. The three tools listed in the "Resources" section of this article all produce an XML sitemap compatible with Ask.com and other search engines. Download the sitemap when it is complete. The name of the file should be "sitemap.xml."
-
2
Upload the sitemap to the root directory of your Web server. On many servers this directory is called "public_html." Many hosting providers have Web-based interfaces that you can use to upload files using your Web browser. Alternatively upload the file using an FTP client such as FileZilla.

Tips & Warnings
Ask.com does not require you to submit your website in order for it to be added to the Ask.com index. If another website that is listed in the Ask.com search engine links to yours, the Ask.com Web crawling robot will find your website.
Like most search engines, Ask.com looks for websites with unique and valuable content to add to its database. Ask.com does not guarantee that a submission will result in your website being listed.
