For most users, Facebook is all about connecting with friends through sharing the details, experiences and photos of everyday life. To make the most of your Facebook experience, you should work on building your friend list. After all, the more friends you have, the more lively your wall is likely to be. Responding to friend requests is not the only way to make connections. You can send friend requests to people you know personally in a few easy steps.
Log in to your Facebook account using your email and password.
Enter the name of a person to whom you'd like to send a friend request in the search bar located at the top of any page.
Click on the person's name if it is listed in the search results that appear on the next page.
Select the link to "Add As Friend" if it appears next to the name of the person on the resulting page.
Await confirmation of your friend request from Facebook.

- Facebook users are prohibited from sending friend requests to people they do not know, which can make them feel annoyed, threatened or harassed. To ensure the safety of its users, Facebook has systems in place to detect friend requests that are ignored in large rates and high volumes. Users found to be engaging in unwanted contact can have their accounts temporarily blocked or permanently disabled.
