If you have a Facebook account and you are constantly receiving requests from people for all the games they play, you know it can be annoying. Then there are the constant friend requests from people you have never met or heard of in your life. Not to mention your friends who post off-color or depressing statuses. You may not want to delete them; however there is a way you can ignore all of these things on Facebook with the press of a button.
Open your Facebook account to your home page.
Ignore people on your home page feed. Hover the cursor over the person's status to the right until you see an "X" appear, and click on the "X" to open a drop-down menu. Choose the "Hide all" feature to eliminate this person's status updates from your home page.
Ignore friend requests from people you do not know or from people you do not wish to befriend. Click on the "Friends" icon to the left of your home page screen. Click on the "Not now" option. Look for a highlighted section "Don't know (person's name)" and click on it; you will no longer receive friend requests from this person.
Click on the request from a game that a person sends to open a new page. Click on the "X," which brings up a drop-down menu. Select "Hide all requests" so that you never get game requests from this person or from other friends who play the same game.
Allow someone to ignore you by your choice, especially if you have someone that frequently makes comments on your page or status updates. Go to their profile page and scroll down to the bottom-left corner. Click on the "Report/Block this person" icon. Choose the blocking option from the drop-down menu to block both of you from each other's profiles.
Tips & Warnings
- When you hide people from your home page feed, they remain available for you to view. You can either go to their profile pages to see what they have going on or add them back into your home page feed by clicking on "Edit options" at the bottom of your home page. Click on the "X" next to the name of the person that you want to add back into your home page feed.
- To ignore all the app posts that other people make that show up on your home page, click on the "X" to the right of the post and then click on "Hide all by (the app)."
