Instructions

  1. The Fan

    • 1

Wash and condition your hair with your favorite products. Towel dry your hair gently.

    • 2

Apply a liberal amount of styling gel or pomade to your hair, working it through evenly with your fingers from the roots to the tips.

    • 3

Create a fan style by bending at the waist and flipping your hair upside down. Comb the hair at the top of your head smooth with a fine-tooth comb.

    • 4

Turn a blow dryer on to low heat and direct the heat to the hair while it hangs straight down. Continue blowing your hair dry until it feels dry.

    • 5

Continue to hang your hair upside down and spray a very heavy layer of firm-hold hairspray onto your hair to keep it in position.

    • 6

Stand straight and look straight up at the ceiling. Turn the blow dryer on again and blow-dry the hair in the back of your Mohawk in the same way, to keep it standing straight out from your scalp. Continue drying it until it feels dry.

    • 7

Stay in the same position and spray the hair on the back of your head with the firm-hold hairspray.

    • 8

Stand straight and look in the mirror. Give your fan style another spritz with hairspray to hold it firmly.

    The Liberty Spikes

    • 9

Wash and condition your hair with your favorite products. Towel dry your hair gently.

    • 10

Separate a 1-inch section of the Mohawk at the top of your head and comb it straight up.

    • 11

Apply a generous amount of pomade onto the section of hair and pull it into a pointed spike that stands straight out from your head. Use enough pomade to make your hair stay where you put it.

    • 12

Repeat the same technique with sections of hair through your entire Mohawk until all of your hair stands straight out in spikes.

    • 13

Spray the spikes with firm-hold hairspray to hold them firmly.
