How to Customize the Tumblr Cargo Theme

Tumblr is an online microblogging social network tool that allows you to create short blog posts for other users to read and view. Tumblr allows you to change the look of your blog through a library of online themes and layouts. The Cargo Theme is a free theme you can install to your Tumblr blog that contains a number of design features. However, if you are familiar with HTML and CSS coding, you can customize the theme's code for your blog.

Instructions

      Log into your Tumblr account.

      Navigate to the Cargo Theme webpage in the Tumblr theme library and click the "Install Theme" button to install it on your blog.

      Navigate to your Tumblr blog. You will see the Cargo Theme's default layout.

      Click "Customize" in the top right corner. This will open up a menu across the top of your blog.

      Click "Theme" from the menu, then click "Use custom HTML." This will open a text box with all the HTML coding used in the Cargo Theme.

      Edit the HTML code to customize the theme for your blog. You can click "Update Preview" to see what your changes look like before you commit to them.

      Click "Save + Close" in the top right corner to save all the changes to the theme and close the menu. When you view your Tumblr blog, you will see the customized changes you have made to the Cargo Theme.
