How to Make Turkey Mole

Mole is often an acquired taste (and those with good taste like it). Recipe serves 4.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 medium chopped onions
  • water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oils
  • 1 c. ground nuts such as walnuts or peanuts
  • 2 tbsp. chili powders
  • 1 large breast and wing of turkeys

  • 1 oz. bittersweet chocolate

  • 1 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 tbsp. chili powders
  • 2 medium chopped onions
  • 1 c. ripe olives
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 small dried red chiles
  • 1 large breast and wing of turkeys
  • 1 c. ground nuts such as walnuts or peanuts

  1. Step 1

    Cut the turkey wing into 2 pieces and the turkey breast into 4 pieces.

  2. Step 2

    Put the turkey meat into a large pot along with enough water to cover it, and bring to a boil.

  3. Step 3

    Add salt, and simmer for 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    While turkey simmers, heat oil in a skillet, and brown the onion.

  5. Step 5

    Put the browned onion, garlic, chili powder, red chile, nuts and chocolate in the pot with the simmering turkey meat.

  6. Step 6

    Cover, and finish simmering turkey. The turkey should be tender, and the sauce should be blended and thickened.

  7. Step 7

    Add olives 10 minutes before serving.
