How to Block Embedded URLs in YouTube

How to Block Embedded URLs in YouTube thumbnail
You can keep others from posting your YouTube videos elsewhere by blocking the embedded URLs.

YouTube provides free accounts that allow you to upload video onto the Internet. It is convenient for sharing home movies with your family and friends, but you may be concerned with what others do with your video once it is online. There are several YouTube settings for each video to help you protect yourself. You can even block the ability for other websites to embed the YouTube URLs to your videos. It is a simple process to help you protect your videos.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the YouTube website, and log in to your account. You can use your YouTube user name and password or your Google user name and password.

    • 2

Click on the drop-down menu next to your name, and select "My Videos" to go to the videos uploaded by your account.

    • 3

Scroll down the page to the video that you want to block the embedded URL on, and click the "Edit" button next to it.

    • 4

Move to the bottom of the page to the box labeled "Broadcasting and Sharing Options." Click on the section labeled "Embedding" to expand it. Click the circle next to the option that says, "No, External Sites may NOT Embed and Play This Video" so the circle is blackened.

    • 5

Press the "Save Changes" button either at the bottom of the page under the "Broadcasting and Sharing Options" box or at the top of the page above the "Video Information" box.
