How to Make a Pikachu Shape

How to Make a Pikachu Shape thumbnail
Pikachu closely resembles a rodent, such as a mouse.

Pikachu is an electric type character from the Pokemon games and shows. This Pokemon was made popular on the Pokemon show. Pikachu was the companion of one of the main characters, Ash. Pokemon are generally simple cartoons, and Pikachu is one of the easiest to draw. Once you know how to draw Pikachu's basic shape, you can add features or draw the Pokemon in different poses. A sketch of Pikachu's shape can also be used as a stencil, which can help you create other Pikachu projects.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a circle for Pikachu's head. One side of this circle should bulge out slightly, creating Pikachu's distinctive cheek. Remember that Pikachu will appear to be looking slightly toward whatever side you add the cheek shape to.

    • 2

Add two ears to the top of Pikachu's head. Pikachu's ears are shaped like rabbit ears, although they are somewhat slimmer and pointier at the ends. The ear above the side of the face with the cheek bump should start right on the head circle. The ear on the opposite side of the head should start slightly inside the edge of the circle. This makes it appear closer to the viewer.

    • 3

Sketch Pikachu's body just below the head circle. Pikachu's body is short, and therefore should be about the same length as the head circle. The shape of the body should be rectangular, no wider than the head, with rounded corners. The very top edge of the rectangle should disappear behind the head circle. You can tilt the body shape, so that it slants in one direction or the other, to give the appearance of movement.

    • 4

Draw two curving lines on each side of the body. These are the arms. Pikachu's arms are short and rounded. They look somewhat pudgy. The arm on the side with the cheek bump should be slightly short than the other arm.

    • 5

Connect the left arm lines by drawing a spiky line across the top. Each spike in the line is one of Pikachu's tiny fingers. Do the same on the right arm.

    • 6

Draw a somewhat elongated oval at the bottom left side of the body. This is one of Pikachu's feet. The oval should be short, as Pikachu has very small feet. Draw a similar oval on the bottom right side of the body.

    • 7

Draw another spiky line across the top of each foot. These are Pikachu's toes. They should be a bit wider and longer than the fingers.

    • 8

Draw Pikachu's tail by sketching a zigzag line from the base of the body. The zigzag ends in a straight horizontal line parallel to Pikachu's head. Finish the tail by drawing another zigzag line that connects the top of the tail to the base of the body. The finished tail looks like a lightning bolt with a square top.
