The Easiest Way to Cut Rice Krispy Treats
Combine crispy rice cereal with melted marshmallows to create a classic Rice Krispies treat. After spreading the treat mixture into a baking pan, you must cut the treats into squares or bars. A knife is not the easiest method to cut the treats. The sticky marshmallow base and the large size of the uncut treat in the baking pan will make using a knife difficult. Take a cue from pizza for a faster way to cut the treats without having to make a series of small cuts. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Wait for at least 30 minutes after preparing the treats before cutting them to allow the marshmallow to harden.
-
2
Place a cutting board on top of the baking pans the treats are in. Hold the cutting board with one hand and flip the baking pan upside down so the cutting board is on the bottom. Remove the pan to reveal the treats on top of the cutting board.

3
Spray a pizza cutter with cooking spray or coat it lightly with butter to prevent sticking.
-
4
Run the pizza cutter through the cereal treats width-wise every 2 inches.
-
5
Turn the cutting board one quarter turn and cut the treats every 2 inches lengthwise to produce 2 inch square treats for serving. Keep leftovers covered at room temperature for up to two days, or frozen for up to six weeks.
