How to Upgrade Ubuntu From Alpha to Beta
Approximately every six months, Canonical releases a new, stable version of Ubuntu. In between these releases, you can download and install development builds of the next release. The first development build is an alpha version. Canonical later releases beta versions of Ubuntu before releasing the final, stable build. If you have an alpha version of Ubuntu and want to upgrade to the latest beta version, you can do so whenever you want.
