Assess your closet and get rid of the pieces you have not worn in the last year. If you bought something that was trendy 5 years ago but is no longer considered fashionable, why keep it? French women do not follow trends, but rather, they purchase garments and accessories that they know will flatter their figure and make themselves feel good.

Take advantage of your accessories. Dress up an otherwise boring outfit with a bright scarf, jewelry or unique pair of sunglasses. French women utilize accessories to make their outfits creative expressions of themselves. Have fun with what you already own. French women shy away from purchasing luxury items simply for their monetary worth and social status symbol, but rather, they utilize key pieces that they have acquired throughout the years.
