How to Remove the Border Around a PNG Image

Save

Regardless of the type of image on your Web page -- whether it's a JPEG, PNG, TIF or BMP -- you can remove the frame around it by slightly altering the HTML code. When you remove the border around an image, you do not need to do anything to the image itself; rather, you need to alter the section of the code that deals with the border.

  • Log in to your Web server and open the HTML page that includes the PNG image with a border around it.

  • Locate the PNG image in the code of the page by selecting "Ctrl + F" to open the "Find" box. Type "PNG" in the box and press "Enter." The "PNG" text will be highlighted.

  • Locate the code "BORDER=1" which should be located just after the "PNG" text.

  • Change "BORDER=1" to "BORDER=0."

  • Publish the page.
