The Moultrie Game Spy I-40 is a trail camera. With the I-40, you can strap the unit to a tree or sturdy object in the woods and the motion-detection feature will automatically take a snapshot of anything that passes in front of the camera. Though the I-40's manual doesn't specify instructions specifically for formatting memory cards, the company's website states that any time you erase all of your card's photos from the I-40, it automatically formats the card to work in that camera. The GameSpy I-40 uses SD Cards with up to 4GB of storage space.
Things You'll Need
- SD memory card
Turn your I-4O on to erase the pictures stored on the device's internal memory before installing your SD card. The manual specifies internal images must be erased before using an SD card in the I-40.
Select "Setup" and "Erase All Images." Press the camera's "Select" button then press the "Up," "Yes" and "Setup" buttons. Wait while the I-40 deletes all internal images.
Turn your I-4O off and insert your SD card into the camera's SD card slot. With the camera facing you, the slot is on the right side of the I-40.
Formatting SD Cards
Turn your I-40 on with the SD card inserted into its slot. Use the "Up" and "Down" arrow keys to select "Setup" and hit "Select."
Navigate to "Erase all images" and press "Select." Press either the "Up" or "Down" arrow to change the value from "No" to "Yes.'
Press "Select" to erase the images on your SD card. Doing this automatically formats the card for use in the Game Spy I-40.
