The HTC EVO 4G smartphone includes a built-in 8-megapixel camera for capturing photos on the go. Any pictures you take are stored only in the phone's memory, so unless you transfer them to your computer, your memories will be lost should you lose your phone or upgrade to a new one. Transferring photos to your computer isn't a complicated process. All you need is the USB cable your EVO came with.
Connect your USB data cable for the HTC EVO 4G to the phone and to a USB port on your computer.
Select "Disk Drive" when the phone asks you to choose a connection mode. Click "Done."
Navigate to your "Removable Disk" drive on your computer. Your computer will display your phone as a "Removable Disk." Launch the Windows 8 Photos app and select "Import."
Select your HTC EVO 4G from the list of devices. The Photos app automatically searches the phone for all photos and selects the ones that have not been imported before.
Click "Import." The Photos app imports the photos to your computer and displays them. When the import is finished, you can safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
Tips & Warnings
- If you don't want to transfer all of the photos from your phone, click the ones you don't want to deselect them. Clicking them again will re-select them. To select all photos, even if they have been imported before, click the "Select All" button.
