How to Keep Kissing After One Smooch

Whether it's your first kiss or your first kiss with someone new, you will probably be feeling a little nervous and excited. Most of all, you will just want it to feel right. We have all had kissing disasters, but with confidence, a bit of know-how and lots of practice, you can get more enjoyment out of the experience and become a much better kisser.

  • Close your eyes during the kiss. There is nothing worse than kissing someone in an intimate way, knowing that he is looking over your shoulder. Kissing is about trust, closeness and being in the moment. If you open your eyes in the middle of a kiss, you give your partner the signal to stop.

  • Pull away gently, but slowly. Open your eyes, and maintain eye contact. To keep kissing after this first kiss, you have to stay in the moment. Focus on your partner's eyes and lick your lips.

  • Put your arms around your partner. Pull her closer and back into a kiss. You could put your arms around her lower back or shoulders, or you could run your fingers through her hair. Being affectionately close can enhance the mood.

  • Relax and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always have fresh breath. Mints are your best friend.
  • Moist lips are good, but not sticky lips. Avoid lip gloss if you can.
  • The more relaxed you are, the more you will enjoy the kiss.
  • Don't be too keen. Biting tongues and clashing teeth is not an ideal way to start a relationship.
