How to Invert Colors on MS Paint for Windows 7

Microsoft Paint, packaged with the company's Windows 7 operating system, includes options to edit photos or create pictures using the program's basic drawing tools. No button exists in the program's toolbar section to invert the colors on your opened photo, so the feature seemingly does not exist. You can, however, use a built-in hot-key to instantly invert your image to bypass the lack of a visible button.

  • Open Microsoft Paint. Type "Paint" into the Start menu's search box and press "Enter."

  • Press "Ctrl" and "O" simultaneously to view your "Pictures" folder.

  • Double-click the picture file that you wish to invert. The file opens.

  • Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and "I" simultaneously to invert the colors.
