How to Resize Pictures on Craigslist

How to Resize Pictures on Craigslist thumbnail
A picture can make it clear exactly what's for sale.

When you post a Craigslist ad, you can attach up to four pictures of your item for sale to enhance your ad. If your pictures are too large, they might detract from, rather than enhance your ad. Craigslist doesn't have any photo editing software on its site; If you've posted an ad and want to downsize to smaller pictures, you can make the changes in Microsoft Paint which comes free with Windows.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Paint on your computer.

    • 2

Click the "Paint" icon and then click "Open." Locate the picture on your computer and then click "Open."

    • 3

Click "Resize" and then type a percentage into the "Horizontal" text box to reduce the picture to that percentage. For example, type "75" and then click "OK" to reduce the picture to 75 percent of its original size.

    • 4

      Click the "Save" icon.

    • 5

Log into the email account that you used to post the Craigslist ad and then find the email for the posting.

    • 6

Click on the link in the email to take you to your listing in Craigslist.

    • 7

      Click "Edit this posting."

    • 8

Click the "Browse" button and upload the new pictures to Craigslist from your hard drive.
