How to Find Your Union Number As a Teacher
There are many reasons that an educator would want to join a teacher's union: political clout, resources and advocacy are just a few. Today's teacher's unions have many programs that benefit the teacher with either discounts, health care choices and member benefits. For these, you would need to have your union number handy. If you cannot find your union number or haven't used it in a while, take a few simple steps to locate it for convenient use now and in the future.

1
Call the union and ask to acquire your number over the phone, by fax, or in writing. Provide your identity through either your social security number or address to obtain your union number. Alternatively, email a request through a special registration contact email.
-
2
Register online with your union so that you will be able to access union information. This will also make your union number available to you whenever you need it, as most teacher's unions do not require it for registration. Create a user name and password to register for the NEA and other large unions.
