How to Access the BBC iPlayer From Overseas

Save

Like most on-demand web-based television services, the BBC's iPlayer is only available to residents of the country its content is broadcast to on traditional television. When you navigate to the iPlayer and click on content to stream, BBC servers record your IP address to establish your location. If you're outside the UK, you get a message telling you the service is not available in your area. If you're a BBC television license fee payer, there are a number of services you can use to access content from the iPlayer while abroad. iPlayer assigns your computer a UK-based IP address through a proxy server.
