Assemble your instruments together and determine a budget for your recording studio. If you have only acoustic instruments, a quality microphone may be enough. You will also need speakers or headphones.

This device will allow you to connect these components to your Firewire or USB port. Some audio interfaces also include a MIDI keyboard, saving you from purchasing both separately.

Plug in your microphone, open Garage Band and begin recording. You can use multiple tracks on Garage Band, allowing you to record one instrument at a time if you are short on jacks. Then mix the tracks together and save your recording as an MP3.

Download iTunes if it is not installed already. Import your MP3 files to iTunes. Then insert a CD-R into your disc drive and burn your music to a CD.
