How to Make a Rukia Costume
Rukia, full name Rukia Kuchiki, is a fictional, animated female character in the popular Japanese manga series "Bleach." Rukia is seen in several different costumes throughout the "Bleach" series, including a gray-and-red schoolgirl outfit, but she is most famous for her soul reaper uniform, which consists of a black robe and a white sash belt. Rukia's soul reaper costume will make an original fancy dress outfit that can be worn to Halloween or fancy dress parties.
Things You'll Need
- Black robe
- White tie
- Sewing machine
- White ribbon
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Sewing pins

Lay the black robe out flat onto your workspace. Measure the entire length from the bottom edge of the robe round the back of the neck, and down to the other bottom edge of the robe. Cut a piece of ribbon to this length. Pin the ribbon onto the outside of the robe with the sewing pins.

Thread the sewing machine with the white cotton thread. Insert the bottom of the robe over the sewing machine arm. Sew along the outside edge of the ribbon, removing the pins as you go along. The entire white ribbon should now be sewn to the outside edges of the robe.

Measure the circumference around the cuff of the robe with the tape measure. Cut two pieces of white ribbon to this length. Pin one of the white ribbons around the outside edge of the cuff. Insert the cover over the sewing machine arm. Sew along the outside edge of the ribbon, removing the pins as you go along, until the entire ribbon has been sewn onto the cuff. Repeat with the other cuff.

Put the robe on. Tie the white tie around the middle of the waist, and secure in a bow at the front of the waist.
