How to Take an SD Card Out of a Phone

Many smartphones and cellphones feature a built-in mini SD memory card slot used for additional storage. Songs, pictures and data can be saved to the SD card. Users may wish to share data and songs on a card. The SD card must be removed from the phone to transfer data from the card to the computer. Users can also upload new songs, ringtones and data from a computer to the SD card to enjoy on the phone.

Instructions

1. Press the "Power" button to turn off the phone.

2. Locate the SD card slot on one of the sides of the phone.

3. Pull the plastic cover off of the slot. The SD card is exposed.

4. Push the SD card into the phone to unlock it from its locked position.

5. Pull the card out.

6. Place the cover over the SD card slot.
