How to Find a URL on Flickr

Many photos on Flickr have a Creative Commons license, which means you can use the photo online as long as you provide credit to the author but to embed Flickr photos elsewhere online you have to find the direct URL. If the direct URL is not listed for a particular photo on Flickr, it's because the author has not authorized permission for sharing and posting online.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to Flickr.com and locate any photo for which you want to find the direct URL.

    • 2

Click the photo thumbnail icon to go to the photo's individual page on Flickr.

    • 3

Click the "Share" tab on top of the photo, which features an envelope, Twitter icon and Facebook icon.

    • 4

Click "Grab the Link" to view a direct link to the photo that you can copy and paste. If you want to embed the photo elsewhere, you can also click "Grab HTML" to copy pre-formatted HTML embed code with the photo.
