How to Unsubscribe for Facebook Conversations

Facebook messages allow you or your friends to start conversations with multiple people, creating a group conversation where anyone included in the message can participate. In a group conversation, you receive notifications on Facebook and sometimes by email whenever someone updates or responds to the conversation. This can lead to a large number of notifications and email. To stop this, simply unsubscribe from the Facebook conversation.

Instructions

1. Sign in to Facebook with your email address and password. Click the "Messages" button next to the Facebook logo. The "Messages" button is the icon shaped like two speech boxes.

2. Click the conversation between more than one friend in your inbox to open the message to the conversation page. Click the "Actions" menu in the upper, right-hand corner of the conversation to expand the drop-down menu.

3. Click "Leave Conversation" in the drop-down menu. Press the blue "Leave Conversation" button in the pop-up warning window to confirm your decision. You are immediately unsubscribed from the conversation.

Tips & Warnings

• Be aware that anyone involved in the conversation will see that you have unsubscribed to updates from the group message.
