How to Make a Blend on PowerPoint thumbnail
PowerPoint users can insert images as slide backgrounds along with colors.

PowerPoint allows you to create color blends in the background of the slide. These color blends can move between one or two colors in a gradual transition. Many PowerPoint users create background blends to add a more dynamic look the backgrounds. You can create a blend by using the "Fill Options" menu within the program.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the PowerPoint software program. Click "File" and then click "Open Project." Navigate the browser window to select the project you want to use with a color blend and double-click it.

    • 2

Click the slide you want to use with a blend from the thumbnail images on the left of the program. Right-click a blank space on the slide's background. Click the "Background" option.

    • 3

Click the drop-down bar in the new window that appears. Click the "Fill Effects" option.

    • 4

Click "One-Color" or "Two-Color" for your new blend. A one-color blend will just move transition from the lightest shade to the darkest shade of that color. Click the drop-down bars beneath the "Color 1" and "Color 2" to choose the color or colors you want to use in the blend. Click the "OK" button.
