How to Ask a Girl If She's Ready to Be in a Relationship

She may be waiting for you to bring up the topic of exclusivity.

It's not always easy to tell when a girl is ready to be in a relationship. While you may be having a fun time dating casually, it's important to know she's ready for a commitment by broaching the subject with her. Don't just assume you are already dating exclusively. When approaching the topic, make sure you are in a quiet place in which others can't interrupt you. Listen carefully to her feelings on the subject and do your best to convey how much you care.

Instructions

1. Consider your timing when you're thinking about asking her. Ask yourself if you've been dating long enough for her to really know and trust you. If you're confident she may be interested in exclusivity, approach the subject when she is in a good mood and free from worries or stress that might distract her from the conversation.

2. Ask her how she's feeling about dating you. By giving her the opportunity to speak her mind first, you can gauge where she stands on the issue. Give her plenty of time to communicate her feelings and don't interrupt her while she's talking.

3. Tell her you aren't dating anyone else and would like to date her exclusively. Convey how happy you are with her and that you want to do your best to make her happy, too.

4. Ask her if she's ready to be with you in an exclusive relationship. If she's hesitant to decide, let her describe her concerns without taking them personally. By giving her the space and freedom to make the choice when she's ready, you are sending a message that you respect her enough to wait. She may just need some time to think things over.
