How to Format Fractions to Percentages in Excel
Fractions can easily be entered into Microsoft Excel. If you want to change a fraction into a percentage, then you just need to use a simple multiplication, as you would if working out the answer with a calculator or mentally. When you type the fraction in with this method, it will automatically create the percentage of that fraction.
Instructions

Using a Formula
-
1
Open Microsoft Excel.
-
2
Select a cell that contains a fraction in it, or type a fraction into a cell (proceded by a "0 ").
-
-
3
Type "=X/Y*100" (without quotes). Replace "X" with the first number in your fraction and "Y" with the second part of your fraction. For example, to show a half (1/2) in Excel, type "=1/2*100" and press "Enter." This will change the value to "50%" which is the percentage equivalent of that fraction. Click "OK."
