How to Link a Phone to Twitter
If you're a Twitter user who doesn't have access to a smartphone, you can still get some of the features of Twitter while on the go. Using your cell phone provider's text messaging service, or SMS, you can subscribe to receive updates from certain Twitter users as well as send out your own tweets via text message. These features can be used when you link your mobile phone to Twitter.

Log in to your Twitter account at Twitter.com.

Click your username near the top, right-hand corner and select "Settings."

Open the "Mobile" tab and enter your cell phone number into the "Phone number" field provided. Click "Start."

Send a text message from your mobile phone to "40404." Include the confirmation word listed on the "Verify your phone" page as the message. When Twitter receives your message, your mobile number will be confirmed and your Twitter account will be linked to it.
