How to Turn Off a Palm Pixi to Charge

The Palm Pixi smartphone charges fastest when the phone is powered off. When the phone is plugged in but left on, some of the electricity is siphoned off to power the phone's functions. When the Pixi is plugged in but the power is off, all of the electricity goes to charging the phone's battery. The amount of time it takes to charge the battery depends on how low the battery started, and whether the phone is plugged into an outlet or a USB port.

Instructions

1. Open the door that covers the charger/data port on the right side edge of the Pixi.

2. Insert the USB charger cable into the port. Plug the other end of the cord into an outlet, or into a computer's USB port if you are using a data cable.

3. Press and hold the "POWER" button on the top-left corner of the Pixi until a menu appears on the screen. Tap "Turn Off" to turn off the phone.

Tips & Warnings

• The Pixi will charge faster from a power outlet than from a USB port.
