How to Move a Picture in Gimp
GIMP photo-imaging software makes organizing and altering pictures within a project as easy as moving your mouse. You can layer different images to create collages or add detail to custom works. The Toolbox in GIMP offers a variety of digital tools to help you adjust layers and photos to create your ideal work. Before you can understand advanced techniques in GIMP, become familiar with the basics, including the useful "Move" tool.

Click on the layer or picture you want to move in the "Layers, Channels and Paths" window. This window opens to the left of the Image window.

Select the "Move" tool found in the Toolbox window. The tool's icon looks like a blue cross.

Click and drag the picture you want to move to the desired location.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful to click on the photo you want to move. If you click outside of the photo, you may move a different layer.
