Microsoft Office Word 2007 comes with a variety of styles and themes that allow you to customize the look and feel of your Word documents with different fonts, formats and color schemes. In addition to choosing from a large, preset library of styles and schemes, you have the option to customize and build your own themes, color schemes and styles. Creating a new scheme gives you infinite customization options for your Word documents.

      Click the "Page Layout" tab on the Office Ribbon.

      Press the "Colors" button on the "Themes" panel to open the Colors menu.

      Click "Create new Theme Colors" at the bottom of the Colors menu.

      Customize the theme colors according to your tastes. Give your new theme a name in the "Name" text box and press "Save." Your new theme will appear at the top of the Colors menu in the "Custom" section.
