How to Reset and Clean a Black and Decker Coffeemaker
For the best flavor and quality, you should clean the inside of your Black and Decker coffeemaker every month or after using the coffeemaker 60 times. Cleaning and resetting the coffeemaker removes any deposits that may form from hard water. The outside of the coffeemaker, its carafe and filter basket should be cleaned more often. Wash the filter basket and carafe in your dishwasher or hand wash in the sink. Always wait until the carafe and coffeemaker have cooled before cleaning. Does this Spark an idea?

2
Set a clean paper filter into the filter basket. Put the carafe on the hot plate below the filter basket. Close the lid on the coffeemaker and turn it on. Let half of the vinegar/water mixture brew, then turn the coffeemaker off and wait 15 minutes.

3
Turn the coffeemaker back on and let the rest of the vinegar/water mixture brew into the carafe. Turn it off again.
-
4
Pour the vinegar/water mixture down the drain and throw out the paper filter.

5
Fill the reservoir full with clean water. Set the carafe back on the hot plate and turn the coffeemaker back on. Let all of the water brew through the coffeemaker to flush out any remaining vinegar. Repeat with another full pot of water if necessary.
