How to Track Shipping on eBay Items

EBay is a popular auction site that connects buyers and sellers throughout the world. Once an item has been purchased or won by the winning bidder, the buyer must send payment to the seller before the products are shipped. Depending on the method of shipment and value of the item, it is often possible to track shipping on eBay items so you know when the item was shipped and when to expect the package's arrival.

  • Log into your eBay account.

  • Go to "My eBay" to access information regarding your buying and selling history. Any items recently purchased will be located here, along with payment and shipping details.

  • Click "Purchase History" on the left side of the page to view a list of recently purchased items.

  • Find the item you want to track and see if there is a tracking number link underneath the item title. Tracking numbers are provided here when shipping labels are prepared and printed through either PayPal or eBay. If the tracking number is listed here, click it to obtain detailed tracking information.

  • Contact the seller directly if you have any questions regarding the status of your shipment. The seller will be able to tell you exactly when the item shipped, which carrier is delivering the item and, if available, the tracking number for the shipment.

  • Track the progress of your shipment if a tracking number was provided. You can get shipment and delivery updates on all of the major carriers' websites, including UPS, FedEx, DHL and the United States Postal Service.
