      Upload the signature animation to an online Web space. Your Internet service provider may be able to provide you with free Web space for hosting your signature animation. You can also receive free image hosting from a number of online sources, including Photobucket, ImageShack or Picasa.

      Locate and copy the online URL address of the recently uploaded signature animation. From your browser right-click on the image and select "View Image," and then copy the image URL from the address bar. Obtain this address under the "Direct Link" text field shortly after uploading the image to the host. You will need this URL address in order to properly host the image in your signature.

      Sign into your email account and access the "Email Options" page for your account. Verify that you are able to compose email messages as rich text, as you will not be able to view the signature when plain text is used. Locate the "Signatures" page for your account and enter the following text into the text field for the signature:

      <DIV><BR>

      <img src="http://www.example.com/signature.gif">

      </DIV>

      Send an email to yourself in order to view the animated signature. Compose your email as normal, but at your own e-mail address in the "To" field and click "Send." You should be able to see the email you sent yourself in your in-box within seconds of sending the email.

Tips & Warnings

  • Ensure the signature saves as a "GIF" image. If the signature is saved in any other format, the animation will not work.
