How to Convert a DTP File to a PDF

A DTP file is a Publish-iT document. Publish-iT is a desktop publishing package in which you can create and edit DTP files. A PDF file is a document format by Adobe. This format is used for documents such as academic papers, legal documents and e-books. With Adobe Acrobat Professional installed on your computer, you can use the "Adobe PDF" printer to create PDF files from DTP files.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and "All Programs." Click on the "Publish-iT" directory, and click on the "Publish-iT" shortcut icon to launch Publish-iT.

2. Click on the "File" menu, and click "Open." Locate the DTP file you want to convert to a PDF, and then click "Open." This will load the DTP file into Publish-iT.

3. Hold down the "Ctrl" key, and press "P." Change the printer name to "Adobe PDF," and then click "Print." Change the file save location to the Windows desktop, type a file name, and then click "Save." The DTP will be saved as a PDF file on your Windows desktop.

4. Double-click and open the PDF file to confirm that it was saved correctly.
