How to Change the Drive a Torrent Downloads to With Vuze

"Vuze," formerly known as "Azureus," is a program designed to download torrent files. Torrents are the file type used for sharing files on peer-to-peer networks. A free program, Vuze offers users features like a download library, a torrent search function and video playback. If you often download large files from the Internet, you probably find yourself running low on space. If you installed another hard drive to gain more storage, "Vuze" does not automatically switch to a different download location. You must manually change the download directory for Vuze to use your new drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Vuze. To ensure the best compatibility, update the application to the latest version if a new version is available.

    • 2

Click "Tools." Click "Options" to open a new window on top of the normal graphical interface.

    • 3

Click "Files" located in the left-hand menu of the "Options" screen.

    • 4

Click the "Browse" icon located to the right of the "Default directory" dialog box. This opens a new, small window with a directory tree.

    • 5

Scroll down the directory tree. Click the arrow beside "Computer." Select the drive on which you wish to save your torrents. Select a specific folder or location on that drive. Click "OK."

    • 6

Click "Apply" located at the bottom right corner of the "Options" window. Close the options window.

Tips & Warnings

  • If there are no folders to your liking on the new destination drive, click the "Make New Folder" button in the "Browse" window to make a new destination folder on that drive.
