Draw your egg on a plate or even draw the cracked shell next to it.

Drawing food can be an artistic and relaxing activity. Drawing certain foods can also show you how unique they are in their look and shape; one such food is a raw egg. Drawing a raw, uncooked egg is easy to do and can be a fun activity for yourself or for kids learning about the food groups or cooking in the kitchen.

Instructions

    • 1

Crack an egg onto a plate, making sure not to break the yolk. A good method is to crack the egg by hitting the side of it on a plate. Tap it with a little firmness on the plate, then pull the eggshell in half, pushing slightly in with your thumbs and pulling outward. Use the raw egg on the plate as a reference point as you draw.

    • 2

Draw a circle lightly with a pencil about 2 inches in diameter. This will be the yolk of your egg. Draw a slightly wavy circle around your first circle, making the space between the circles 3 or 4 inches wide, to represent your egg white.

    • 3

Trace over your first circle with firm pressure using a yellow-orange colored pencil. Fill in the circle with a little less firmness with the same pencil. To show the outline of the yolk clearly, you want the inside of the circle to be slightly lighter than the more firm tracing you made of the circle.

    • 4

Color the space between your inner circle and the outer circle with very light pressure using a pale-yellow colored pencil. Do not use a pastel yellow, but just a pale shade of yellow, or use your yellow-orange pencil to shade with very light pressure.

    • 5

Color the area outside the outer circle with the color of your plate or any other color you want. This will emphasize the egg white and show the full picture of an egg. You can draw your egg on a plate, in a skillet or on whatever background you want.
