How to Give Reflections at a Choir Reunion
Choir reunions are a wonderful way to reconnect with old associates and friends. Whether you are a former member of a church choir or school-based singing group, reunions are a place to celebrate warm memories. Give reflections and share your personal reminiscences with the entire group. Arrange it, if possible, so reflection time can take place in the sanctuary or choir hall where you used to perform to stimulate musings and nostalgia.

1
Draft a reunion program and name tags for all former members who are attending. Scour choir records -- if they exist -- to include the names of all persons involved in the music group. List individual names, dates they participated and a short biography of each person. Print off programs and name tags so reconnections are made easier for all former members who may be reconnecting for the first time.
-
2
Allow every former member to offer a reflection. Encourage members to note why they joined the choir and to speak about a specific memory that is especially important to them -- whether it be filled with humor or sorrow. Share the reflection openly and honestly and give as many details as possible.

3
Speak about times when the entire group accomplished a goal together or a special event that made a difference for the choir. Note any particular friendships or bonds that were formed and what the choir meant to each person. Mention any singular hymns or songs the choir performed that hold distinctive meaning. Explain those meanings to the group and ask others to comment or share similar thoughts as reflections are told.
-
4
Share images with each other of times gone by -- personal images or those held in possession by the choir. Complete reflection time by joining together in singing a favorite hymn or song -- or series of songs -- that hold special meaning for the group.
