How to Draw an Angel With Pencil
Angels are the messengers of God in the Christian and Jewish traditions. Angels are typically represented as human beings with large white bird-like wings and a halo. The wings or halo on a drawing of an angel may be optional, although drawings of angels usually include one or the other, if not both. Drawing an angel can be very simple. Once you've perfected a simple method of drawing an angel, you may go on to draw more complex angels.

1
Draw a shape like an antique keyhole--a circle on top with a symmetrical trapezoid on the bottom. This is the head and body of the angel.
-
2
Draw two shapes like large bullhorns coming out from the body of the angel, just below the head. These are the wings. They should curve upward into a pointed tip.
-
-
3
Draw an iconic face on the angel--two dots for the eyes, a curving smile for the mouth.
-
4
Draw a horizontal oval above the angel's head. This is the halo.
-
5
Draw two arms extending down the sides of the body of the angel. The arms will be represented by short rectangles on each side of the angel's body. Draw circles at the end of the arms for the hands. Sign and date your work.
