The Boss GT-8 is another floor-based amp-modeling, multi-effect processor for a guitar. The Boss GT-8 features Roland's COSM amp-modeling technology, and also features a built-in expression pedal as well as midi. The POD xt is essentially an amp-modeler with effects, while the GT-8 is an effects processor with amp-modeling added. Each unit has a somewhat different focus.
